PORTFOLIO
Hey, I’m Amanda. I partner with organizations to create digital experiences that are better for everyone.
After majoring in communications and starting my career in PR, my professional evolution to digital is when things really clicked into place for me. Now I lead major content strategy and user experience projects for some of the largest, most complex organizations in Georgia.

Listen, all of the information about my professional experience, education, awards, volunteering, and press are below for you to read through. I’m not going to list out all my professional accolades here in slightly more detail, slowly walking you through the last 15 years of my career.
This is where I tell you who I am and how I work.
I believe in data-driven decisions. Good strategy isn’t based on vibes, trends, or “well the COO wanted to do this.” It’s based on reliable research. It’s based on user and organizational needs.
I push back against solutioning, a problem I encounter all the time with clients. So often they’ll come to me saying: we need a new website, an AI chatbot, a cool new whirly gig someone mentioned at a conference. And I ask: but do you really? Why?
Then I ask: what are you trying to do? What problem are you trying to solve? Let’s start there - with the problem, not the solution.
The user is at the center of everything I do. I want to create solutions that work for everyone. Good design is invisible. You only notice design when something has gone wrong. So understanding user needs, desires, pain points, backgrounds, and goals is paramount.
When I say I want to create experiences and solutions that are better for everyone - I mean everyone. Working in government has awakened my passion for inclusivity and accessibility. I’ve seen what a difference it makes when everyone can access critical services and experiences. (Oh and hey, Squarespace - why are like half your color templates not WCAG compliant for color contrast?)
I love working face-to-face with clients. I’m quite good at it, if I do say so myself. I believe it comes from my ability to not just listen to someone, but really hear them. I ask questions, redirect conversations if necessary, and I don’t panic if a conversation has gone in an unexpected direction. I know we can do just about anything with the right commitment and resources. I’m also not afraid to say no occasionally. As long as it’s a, “We may not be able to do that, but have you considered…?” kind of no.
I work on tight-knit teams from a variety of disciplines - design, development, UX, project management, client outreach, communications, and production. It’s taught me a ton in terms of technical skills, as well as how to work productively with people whose brains work differently than yours. The end product is always better because someone with a different perspective can come in with a new idea that probably never would have occurred to you.
Many years of writing have taught me that almost nothing is harder than taking a complex task or concept and explaining it briefly, in a way that makes sense to anyone. But for millions of Georgians, that’s what we do every day.
In my free time I like to find creative outlets and go touch grass. I take advantage of the beautiful parks where I live. You’ll frequently find me going for walks along the Chattahoochee River. After many years away from dance, I began a new discipline: ballroom dance. It has reminded me that you only grow through the ability to withstand being really bad at something for a long time.
Photography has been not just a workplace project but something I’ve enjoyed playing with in my free time. I’m a member of the High Museum of Art and frequent Atlanta Ballet performances. I’m a voracious reader. On the days I haven’t written myself cross-eyed for work, I sometimes like to do it for fun. I don’t care if people say it’s a sign of AI use, I’m still a staunch advocate for the Oxford coma. I’m forever planning my next big travel adventure. Okay, okay, I’m planning like seven. The next big one is a New Zealand road trip.
Get in touch if you think we’d be a good fit. I’d love to work with you.
